Doula Credential Representation Standard

Purpose

This standard protects families and protects the integrity of the Born Again Academy Community Perinatal Doula credential.

Respect for Individual Freedom

Certificants may maintain personal beliefs, practices, and additional professions without restriction on their private activities.

Credential Representation Requirement

Applicants and renewal candidates must provide a link to their public portfolio or business website representing their doula services, supporting credential verification and alignment with published standards.

Separation of Services and Branding

Certificants cannot combine or promote services conflicting with Academy standards under the same public brand or website presenting the doula credential. Any additional services must use separate websites, branding, and marketing channels.

Prohibited Practices Under This Credential

• Placenta encapsulation or placenta-related services
• New Age or occult spiritual practices
• Yoga as spiritual practice presented as doula care

Certified doulas cannot suggest Academy endorsement of these practices.

Safety Alignment: Safest Sleep Education

Certificants must teach newborn safe sleep practices including back sleeping, separate sleep spaces, and absence of loose bedding — without promoting unsafe alternatives.

Correction Process

Websites containing prohibited content must be corrected within a specified timeframe before certification approval or renewal.

Applicability

This policy applies to all certified doulas as a certification condition.
